Reliance has been extended and is rumoured to be launching a new JioPhone with 5G support. The organization was supposed to launch the AGM 2021, but now a new report has proposed launching the phone around October-November this year, 2021.
Reliance will host its 44th (AGM) Annual General Meeting on June 24. The news had first reported that along with the JioPhone, Reliance would also launch a JioBook at the event.
Last month, Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated that the company has partnered with Reliance for an affordable smartphone.
However, Pichai didn’t say when the phone will be possible for the users in India. Google had invested Rs 33,737 crore in Jio Platforms for a 7.7 per cent stake at the last AGM.
We are focused on creating an affordable phone, we are dedicated to making progress on the project, and we are working with them (Jio), Pichai stated in a virtual conference.
Reliance, too, has not presented any decision compared to the phone. But the rumours now recommend that the phone will launch around Diwali, i.e., in November or October.
The smartphone is presently being questioned at manufacturing units of Dixon Technologies, UTL Neolyncs, Flextronics, and Wingtech Mobiles. It is being stated that the mobile will be completely available on the online stores of Reliance, including JioMart and Reliance Digital.
It will be bundled with a Jio Sim. We can assume Reliance will also present exciting offers along with the phone, as it has forever done.
The JioPhone will be a smartphone with 5G support as far as the smartphone’s specs are concerned. It is assumed to run on the Android Go operating system (OS) with entry-level specifications.
It is supposed to be priced at around Rs 3650 approximately. The mobile could be open for pre-booking on Reliance Jio’s official platform.
Reliance had initially launched the Jio Phone 2 way back in 2018. The mobile found a device with a qwerty keypad, matching the Blackberry phones, and support for 4G.
It launched the mobile for people who cannot afford high-end 4G smartphones. Started it in India for Rs 2999.
